What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is a type of steel, when the content of carbon(C) contained less than 2 percent , we call it steel, if it is more than 2 percent , we call it iron. If we added some other elements during the smelting process of steel, such as Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si), Titanium(Ti), molybdenum (Mo) and other alloying elements, which can improve the properties of steel and make steel with corrosion resistance (that is, no rust), we often call it stainless steel.
Steel: with iron as the main element, the carbon content is generally less than 2 percent , and contains materials for other elements.
Iron: A metallic element with atomic number 26. Iron material has strong iron magnetic, and has good plasticity and thermal conductivity.
Stainless steel: resistant to weak corrosive media such as air, steam and water.
The regular stainless steel material we used a lot is stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L and Austenitic 300 series stainless steel
